Lake Texoma Fishing Guide-Aaron Sharp-Striper Fishing-Winter Season

The Lake Texoma Striped Bass Winter Season runs from November to February.  We do not put our boat up for the winter, we catch some of our biggest Striper of the season on lures, deadsticking flukes.  November starts out with lots of birds (seagulls) that feed on the shad Striper are killing and pushing to the surface.  We will drift live bait through the birds and or throw sassy shad swimbaits under or near working birds.

November is our favorite month.  Hunters leave the lake and Striper are filling up for a long winter.  Once Lake Texoma water temperatures reach 60 degrees and lower, it becomes an artificial lure bite. Break out the cold weather gear, book a trip with Lake Texoma Fishing Guide Aaron Sharp, and Deadstick for Trophy Striper this winter.

February Lake Texoma starts to come out of winter and we will target shallow water and rocks with smaller swimbaits. The sun comes out and warms up the rocks. The shallow water around the rocks warms up and the shad love this early season bath water! The Striped Bass follow the shad and this is our pattern until March brings some spring type weather. Winter is a great time of year to experience the Striped Bass Capital of the World! Come join Striper Guide Aaron Sharp today!

Lake Texoma Fishing Guide-Aaron Sharp-Striper Fishing-Spring Season

The Lake Texoma Striped Bass Spring Season runs from March to May.  Saint Patricks Day means green beer and Spring Striper Fishing Season has started.  Spring Break for School kids and BIG Striped Bass are binge eating and preparing for the April Spawn run up the Red and Washita Rivers!  If you like to catch Big Striper, March is your month.  A great Staycation Destination for your family and kids.  We will drift live bait in shallow water and throw swimbaits depending on our clients’ desire and skill level.

April can be difficult with all the Striper making their spawning run, but we will catch our share on live bait staged at the river mouths.  We encourage catch and release of big female striper at this time so we can all enjoy this great fishery in years to come.  May is the lead way into Summer and we start to see some top-water action.  We are starting to live bait fish deeper water and the Slab Spoon season begins.

Lake Texoma Fishing Guide-Aaron Sharp-Striper Fishing-Summer Season

The Lake Texoma Summer Striper Season runs from June to August.  June is always fantastic and we book up very fast!  Follow Lake Texoma Fishing Guide to book your June trips.  The weather is getting hot and so if the Striper Fishing on Lake Texoma!  We will start anchoring up in groups and catching nice striper on live bait consistently until August gets too hot!  We still have some swimbait fishing available on Lake Texoma through June, so don’t put up those Chartreuse Sassy Shad!  Follow Striper Fishing Lures for more information.

July turns into a live bait fishing month in very deep water, but the bite is good until August slows the action a bit.  Spend the 4th of July with Lake Texoma Fishing Guide Aaron Sharp!  A great way to say happy birthday USA!  Lake Texoma is not automatic 12 months out of the year, but it’s pretty close.  August gets tough, but September is near!  We will break out the lead line reels and troll sassy shad for Striper most of August.  We still catch our share of fish in August, but it can be tough!

Lake Texoma Fishing Guide-Aaron Sharp-Striper Fishing-Fall Season

The Lake Texoma Fall Striper Season runs from September to October.  September means shallow sandy beaches and big top-water plugs!  If you like watching a 10-pound Striper blow up a 6-inch top-water plug in 2 feet of water, better book a September Trip.  September is very early morning top-water fishing followed by live bait action before noon in 20 feet of water.  The Striper will push shad very shallow onto sandy beach points, then move back into 20 feet of water and hold once the sun gets up around 10 AM.  We love to top-water fish for Texoma Striper in September, you will too!

October Striper Fishing on Lake Texoma is like a kid in a candy store!  Like to catch a big striper on live bait, you can!  Do you like to slab spoon fish for Striper, come see me in October!  Do you throw swimbaits for Striped Bass, come visit Lake Texoma in October!  BIRDS are back on Lake Texoma in October and the striper fishing is as good as it gets!

Lake Texoma is an amazing Striped Bass fishery and earns its name as the Striper Capital of the World.  We catch quality fish and big numbers.  We don’t roll around the lake looking for one big fish.  We will hit a spot and if we are not catching numbers we move in 20 minutes.  Come join us for a great family trip, or bring your high school buddies and enjoy Lake Texoma Striper Fishing!
